Programs
Strength and Conditioning
A large proportion of clients want to improve their general strength and conditioning. As a first step, we conduct a complete hands-on assessment using the following techniques:
- Active and passive range of motion testing
- Manual muscle testing
- Upper and Lower Body Structural Balance Testing
Then the goal is to design and develop an individualized plan to get you to your goals.
One important goal is to keep the body guessing and not let it become accustomed to any one type of regiment. Some of the various tools we use include: free weights, kettlebells, barbells, medicine balls, rubber bands, body weight, battling ropes, sandbags, and even strong man-type training. Both women and men can do strong man training and should never be afraid to increase muscle mass.
Did you know strength training increases bone density? And that one single pound of muscle
can burn up to 70 calories per hour? So, we all need strength training.

Weight Loss and Nutrition Program
A significant number of clients look to lose weight and improve their nutrition. There’s quite a bit that goes into an initiative like this. It’s often a combined effort of the following:
- Food Education
- Sleep & Hydration
- Body Composition & Calorie Requirements
- Macro & Micro Nutrient Information
- Meal Planning & Timing
- Dealing With Difficult Eating Situations
During the 16 Week Lifestyle Enhancement Program, focused on weight loss and nutrition, we use such tools to guide our success as body mass index, basil metabolic rate, calorie calculator, and protein calculations. Of course, a targeted exercise program for the ability
of the individual accompanies the education portion of the program.

BiosignatureTM Modulation
BioSignature Modulaton was developed by world renowned strength coach Charles Poliquin and is very helpful when it comes to getting clients “to the next level” of their health and wellness beyond basic exercise and diet regiments by addressing hormonal balance.
By going deep and targeting your individual needs for protein, fats, carbohydrates and supplements, BioSignature Modulation can yield fast results when combined with our traditional programs.
With BioSignature Modulation, we can measure why your body is biochemically different and address it. Generally speaking, 12 weeks is a realistic goal to make excellent progress.

Sport Specific Training
When it comes to sports training, we go beyond basic conditioning. We look at how to train the entire athlete by focusing on:
- Energy System Protocols
- Functional Core Strength
- Sport Specific Movements
- Body Position Requirements
- Body Composition
- Explosive Power
- Speed, Agility & Quickness
- Sport-specific injury prevention
Whether your sport is golf, hockey, soccer, basketball or boxing, our goal is to incorporate all of the above in order to sculpt a strong, flexible and lean body to perform at the highest level possible in your sport.
If you don’t see your sport listed, contact us today to discuss how the Betz Method can help you and your athletic goals.
Pre/Post Rehabilitation
Over the years, we’ve seen a growing demand from clients who need help with their physical rehabilitation. Whether their experience with physical therapy was positive or negative, there’s a lot that can be done to assist in the pre/post rehab time period to return you to your normal lifestyle.
This can be as simple as exercise to continue to build muscles around the hip or knee or as complex as exercise for people with more serious medical conditions.
While every program is geared toward the individual’s specific needs, these programs often include:
- Active and Passive Range of Motion Assessment
- Manual Muscle Testing
- Manual Resisted Isometrics
- Stabilization, Strength and Power
- Injury Prevention by Training the Joints and Muscles Most Susceptible to Injury
- Correcting Kinetic Chain

Pre/Post Natal
In general, regular exercise builds bones and muscles, gives you energy, and also improves your mood and sleep habits. Exercise is just as important, if not more so, when you’re pregnant.
According to most sources, becoming active and exercising at least 30 minutes on most, if not all, days of the week can benefit your health during pregnancy in the following ways:
- Helps reduce backaches, constipation, bloating, and swelling
- May help prevent or treat gestational diabetes
- Improves your posture
- Promotes muscle tone, strength and endurance
- Helps cope with labor pain
Of course, you must consult with your doctor before engaging in any exercise during your pregnancy, because while there are obvious benefits, there are also inherent risks with pre and post natal exercise.

Special Populations
Because of the integrated approach of the Betz Method, we are able to be very effective for clients with very specific medical conditions and can design the appropriate exercise regiment to help them achieve their goals. Medically focused exercise regiments will improve lifestyle quality and function.
We are prepared to assist with special populations including:
- Obesity
- High blood pressure/hypertension
- Pre-diabetic/diabetic
- Osteoporosis
- Older Adults
- Metabolic diseases
- Pulmonary disease
Of course, a complete assessment of both exercise and certain medicine contraindications must be discussed and assessed as a first step. As well, we’d be pleased to speak with any medical professional to make certain we are approaching the targeted program appropriately.
